After doing the LIM on the car, I took it to get the oil changed. Purchased a 5+ quart jug of the cheap autozone oil (bright orange jug) with a shortchange in mind. We used some oil, but as lubricant only on the job. Car goes in for oil change, I suspect they dumped the whole jug. Since the oil change, I have been smelling oil. Checked the oil, according to the dipstick, it is what 1/2 - 3/4 quart low looks like, only over the full line. The car was 1/2 quart low when it went in. There is some oil drips under the car, the biggest of which is the drain plug. Car has always dripped a couple of weeks after every change, and then it stops, but I see other drips as well. If I had to guess, pan gasket. Haven't touched that, and I bet it could stand to be changed, but it hasn't nagged about anything like that.
So, is "1/2-3/4 quart" overfilled too much? Should I take it back to have them drain it? Am I upsetting anything in the process of it being overfilled?
Car doesn't seem bothered by it, which is why I have given it this much time so far.
