I was looking at replacing the neutral safety switch on the '93 SSE since it's acting up. The car is obviously a '93 but the trans is out of a '96 LeSabre. I know I had to swap the '93 internal wire harness into the '96 transmission for it to work but I don't recall what was done with the neutral safety switch. I remember messing with it but I don't recall why or what I was doing.

Anyhow, the part numbers (and the price ) vary between '93 and '96 so my question is if anyone knows if the neutral safety switch was specific to the car or to the trans?

92-95 Bonneviles have the starter pole( 12 starter solenoid circuit ) passes through the Safety Switch.... On the 96+ this passes through the mall module and the passenger side fire wall... So the 92-95 Switch will work fine for you, just make sure it has a purple starter wire coming off the harness, if it doesn't its the wrong one...
