I bought a 1996 ssei at the end of the winter the ac doesnt work. The is no pressure at the valves ,and the clutch doesnt kick in. Where do I start. I dont have much cash at the moment. So I want to keep it cheap.

I have ac parts On my 1997 se. (parts car) Which the ac stopped working at the end of last summer.

Where do I start. By putting gas and seeing if it leaks (what phreon).

Is there a book AC FOR DUMMIESlol

Ive never touched any ac on any car so please keep it simple

Thank

best to start with pulling vacuum on system. will remove any moisture and also tell if you have leak. post back results or questions.

Fix any known leaks, fill it with dye, and run it. Then get a blacklight and check where the dye leaked out.

if you pulled a vacuum and determined that you don't have other leaks, you are probably ok. changing the accumulator is also a recommended practice when you have had system open but if you are cooling ok it would appear you got most of moisture out of system.

sounds like you did a great job!
