I have a 93 Bonne and I'm looking at a 96 that needs a trans. Can anyone tell me if the trans from the 93 will fit in the 96?

Yes. But not directly.

First, are the gear ratios the same? If not, I wouldn't even attempt it.

If so, you still have some work to do in order to make it work. The '93 trans will need the internal wiring harness from the '96, and the transmission fluid temp sender moved over to it as well. You will have to remove the transmission side pans from both transaxles to do that.

Though it may not be necessary, I always recommend that the axles original to the transmission stay with the trans.
