Post subject: | 97 ssei, evap switch vac lines |
hi, i recent got a 97 ssei and decided to tune/freshen up all maintaince items fluids, plugs/wires filters, belts etc. while changing the plugs and wires i notice the evap switch has 3 vacuum elbows on it. one comes fromthe evap canister purge valve, one goes to the canister and the third one on the bottom of the evap switch does not have a line connected. the only other line i see in the area goes between just below the s/c nose and the map sensor(s) under the evap switch. the third vac line is not on the diagram on the radiator support. i have spent a couple hours googling to no avail... does anyone know where this third line goes to? i could back trace it if i knew. tia, peter |

From everything I have researched, the third is not connected to anything. I thought the same thing.....there must be something that connects to it, but it doesn't, and I have confirmed this with several (at least 5) other '97 owners. Mine has a rubber elbow on it that just points toward the firewall. |

thanks guys. someone pointed out that in the pix i sent, the "port" in question was not barbed and it was probably a vent to the atmosphere...this deduction seemed reasonable. i appreciate your checking for me. peter |
