i have a 2000 ssei
my license plate light is out and its driving me crazy pin pointing the issue.its not the fuse or the bulb,so im guessing its a relay just not sure which one.

not sure if the 2 issues are related but my dome light has been giving me issues also. at times it willl not shut off .

Did you replace the bulbs, or measure their resistance? You can not always tell by looking at the filament that it is has a break. The license plate lamps (2 of them) are driven off the Park LP Relay in the rear fuse block, through the DIMR fuse.

Is there only one light that remains on when you refer to the "dome light", and all the other interior lights shut off?

unless the 2000's are different, there is no "dome light" per say. just the map lights, and the lights on the oh *shoot* handles, right?

There are also lights in the doors, where your red oval reflectors are, as well as under the dash to light up the footwells.

well, yeah, but those are nowhere near the "dome"

OK - simply put...no...there is no one lamp known as the dome light in the middle of the headliner.
