What I have found is a 2000 has some hail damage. So the issues I have found with it are as follows.

Check engine light is on. No information as to why, I did not pull the codes I did not have my bluetooth code reader with me.
Moonroof does not work. Motor runs but does not move.
Hood roof and trunk all have hail/walnut damage.
Headlights are yellow and hazed over.
Damaged driving light glass.

It is an SLE. I am not a fan of the color of the interior but I could get to like it I suppose. Otherwise there does not to seem to be any major dents or panel misalignment.

$1600....

You need to pull the codes. Does the car have a clean title with the hail damage? $1,600 sounds like a lot given the unknowns and damage.

Agreed. I think it would also be wise to check for replacement Upper intake manifold and metal framed lower intake manifold gaskets. Also check for signs of coolant contamination in the oil.

If it looks like gaskets were just replaced, I recommend avoiding.

I did a VIN check. No flags for Accidents/Salvage/Rebuilt/Theft so assumption is title is clean. Upon test drive I am going to plug in the laptop and see what all the sensors are doing while on a test drive. and go from there, I did hear it run but that means nothing until you have it at highways speeds lol...

I have already made a shopping list to sent to Andrew if I was to pick this one. Though not gonna lie I like the exterior but that interior... not digging it...

I went through the DIC and oil was at 17% so assuming that people know how to reset the timer on these cars now would be a good time take a look as its on the back side of needing an oil change.

The engine looked immaculate as if it was recently detailed. I am planning to go look at the 2003 I posted about earlier in the week tomorrow maybe. I did not plan to do so until I had the cash to bring it back with me...

As I'm sure you're aware the engine looking immaculate does not reflect the mechanical condition. Is this a used car dealer, I see another car on the lot without tags? My gut feeling is keep looking or try to buy a car directly from an owner to avoid a retailer's mark-up. Good Luck.

Check the codes, but with that mileage and that price, I'd walk away. You can probably find better deals out there if you look for a little longer.

as for the hail pocks, paintless dent repair - you buy it for 20 bucks on ebay and you can pull all the pocks yourself. its not hard and you'll be an expert by the last one...lol

I still think you can lower him to 900 if the engine/body check clean. even lower if there are issues - check frame and boards for rust under car.

Down the street from this guy I found an SSEi for $1000 its Fuel door is rusted out typical of this area it seems and the dash is not currently in it due to some ignition switch issue...So no idea on how many miles that are on that one. It too is a 2000. I still like the silver one I posted better it looks in better shape over all by mid week I'll have the cash to buy so now I am starting to get serious about it.

I either find them in need of a complete restore, Or look great with high miles and because they look great the price seems to follow with it. I am finding Grand Prix's everywhere... which make me want a Bonneville more.

If I bought this one I would end up buying $1000 in parts from Andrew to get it to where I want it anyway... and that interior color not a fan, wife said I could just change the color of the interior which I could do that but that is more money... lol could be that the previous owner smoked it just looks not quite like the right color... Think it was supposed to be saddle and looks golden brownish...

It's seems like you live on the Island of Misfit Bonneville's! As much as I like Bonnevilles none of these seem very appealing or a good value. It is getting more difficult to find good used Bonnevilles, it may be time to expand your search to other models.

The land of misfit Bonneville... yeah I made a 200 mile round trip today going down one way and back another and all day I saw 1 Bonneville, and that is the one I test drove... Which I will write up that experience on that thread...
