My sunroof is leaking from both the front driver and passenger side. Do I have to remove the headliner to try to fix the problem, or can I just leave it on? As the connecting tubes are beneath the dashboard, I don't think it's necessary. :dontknow: This is quite frustrating for me. I don't know what GM was thinking when they designed and built the Bonneville. Too many stupid issues to count.

You might have a clog at the outlets. I had clogs in mine and someone tried to blow them out with compressed air from the top down and blew the connection behind the firewall apart. I would suggest running a pipe cleaner into the lower drains and see if you can get the debris out. Otherwise you are going to have to get at the connection behind the dash and force it out with compressed air.

Also, check the seal on the sunroof for shrinkage by running a business card around the rim of it and see if it's not sealing up well enough and allowing too much water into the drain system in the first place. That was the problem I had. Running a white cloth along the seal revealed the rubber was dry rotting. I haven't found the perfect sized seal to replace the original with yet, but I did peel off the old one and installed a slightly larger seal which keeps the water out, but I can't just freely use the sunroof..I have to manually make sure the seal is tucked in properly as it can pinch or fold a little.

So, after a week of letting my car sit out and the carpet dry out, my uncle was able to remove the parking brake pedal and find out that the connector tubes weren't connected anymore. So he put them together again, and zip-tied them together. Checked both back tubes, and put a zip-tie on each, even though they weren't disconnected. Just to make sure they don't leak. After a while, I was able to get under the passenger side of the dash and find the passenger connector tubes. Zip-tied that, and then put the whole car back together. None of them were clogged. T'was an interesting experience. Glad it's over, and I'm glad to have my car back.

I've found that the sunroof tubes tend to clog at the sunroof end of the tubes.
Leaves, pine needles, dirt, etc, build up over the years and clog the outlet where the tubes connect to the sunroof.
Hopefully, this isn't an issue with your car.
If it is, you can lower the headliner and access the connections there.
Have a look at the Common Problems thread and you'll find plenty more useful info 2000-2005-other-than-gxp/topic25362.html
