Alright guys I couldn't find the post I made about a month or so ago but I have the issue still with the car bogging down at about 4500-4700 rpm and basically not reaching the 5700 Rpm High shift mark, well the other morning on the way to work I decided to push it a little harder and in doing so as it bogged down I didn't let off the throttle yet I held it down and after about a minute or so at a bogged 4700 it threw a service engine light so I was excited to be able to finally trouble shoot the problem, but alas to no avail the light turn itself back off :eek2: :bluetwitch: my expression exactly I have never seen a check engine light turn itself back off less than a mile after turning on, I am a little nervous about pushing it to hard worried about breaking something I can not afford to repair. so any advice at all would be greatly appreciated!

Both of my 2003 SLE's have an issue when you jump on it. Both well maintained and in great running condition. 40-50MPH push pedal to floor and the vehicle is a tiger until about 4200-4400 RPM and it just starts stumbling and bucking. Seems not so prevaelant at lower speeds. Only thing I have not checked is fuel pressure. Too cheap to buy a gauge. Both have new fuel filters.

It would be wise to see what the code was. You should be able to pull it with a code scanner.

I had that problem too previously. You should still be able to pull the code even though the light went out. Mine would do the same thing. As i recall, i was a random misfire code. I tested and replaced a bad ignition coil, along with the fuel pressure regulator. After that, the problem went away. As i changed two things, I cannot say what was causing the actual problem, but that was my experience.

It should be stored as a history code.
