What's the best way to make this go away? If I put in a shift kit, will this make the code go away? If not, will it basically fix the problem so that if I erase the code it won't come back.
Also, if you install a transmission cooler along with the shift kit, will that help insure that the problem doesn't come back?

Thanks for your help guys!!!

I put a Transgo shift kit in 3 days ago, I haven't had a rough shift since. Kit + install cost me $200, definitely worth a try before replacing PCS or whatever else may be throwing P1811.

I would have it diagnosed by a expert. the PCS is a common issue, i wouldnt advise throwing parts at it without having it checked out. most shops will diag for 40-75 bux.

The P1811 code is for the shifts which is 90% of the time due to a PCS issue and gets worse with time and heat. A tranmission oil cooler helps, but many find the best results by putting in the shift kit. It is not a fix, but merely a bandaid for a known issue.

I suggest doing a shift kit with a fluid and filter change and see if it helps, it definately will not hurt and we already know on this forum the sucess of this.
