Hi I have a gas pedal that will not allow light pressure for light acceleration, then when I press it more it snaps in place but then there is too much acceleration. I never really heard of this? Needs a lube job? |

Also make sure the spring on the outside of the TB is not dirty and gummed up. |

IMO, its not really necessary to remove the TB to clean it. Just remove the air intake box and the MAF screen. Spray some carb cleaner in the TB, then open the butterfly valve and use an old toothbrush or something similar to scrub the buildup away. Don't worry about making it spotless, you are just trying to remove the ridge where the butterfly valve is getting stuck. Use a rag or something wrapped around the toothbrush to wipe away all the crud. Put the screen and intake back in place. |

That was my thought as well looking for an easier way. After cleaning it out almost three years ago during my intake tear down, mine is starting to stick again. |

Ok thanks, I thought was pretty recent that I cleaned it as well but it sounds like you guys all agree. Makes perfect sense. Thanks again. |
