I'm having a hard time figuring this out. After I got my trans rebuilt, the car had the kind of power I was used to, but the past week or so I've noticed I've had to lean into it more just to get up hills. Passing isn't nearly as fun and its just generally.... slow.

Of course first thing I did was start looking for other symptoms. Strangely, there are none. Basically feels like I'm driving through honey. No misfires, boost is generally where it always has been, timing seems normal, generally around 12* at wot. I did spot a little KR the other day, which I normally never get unless I'm lugging in 4th up a hill. Iirc it was during the 3-4 upshift though.

So, id really like to hear some notions on what may be going on here. I'm about to buy a gen v and IC setup, so I should probably figure this out before I drop a wad of cash on it.

Trans isn't slipping is it? If engine is running good then that would make me think that just maybe there is a issue getting the power to the ground...

He literally just had his transmission rebuilt leatherneck, lol. See his first sentence.

I have no idea Randy. Could be the trans is still breaking in? I know my shop said to go easy the first 1000 miles, although that didn't happen, lol.

The Post didn't say how long ago was and I haven;t been on in a while to follow previous posts to know. Been dealing with evil transmission problems of my own here. Coulda been 20 miles ago or 20,000 :).

Trans is about 2k old. I did put a 2500rpm tc in but just after I got the car back it scooted along with great furvor. Now it schleps along like its on strike.

Honestly, when I read the description, the first thing I thought of was slipping transmission. That's the only thing I can think of.

How old are your plugs/wires? Would hurt to swap in a set of fresh plugs and see if that helps. Change the fuel filter too...

Have you contacted the tranny shop or at least stopped by to see what they might say?

Not trying to be a negative neal here, but maybe something already got screwed up in the rebuilt tranny. :dontknow:

I can't rule that out entirely. I do have a slightly higher stall speed converter so my impression is that there would be some looseness there, but this lack of power is present even in lockup mode.

My plugs, wires and fuel filter have about 15k on em. Been meaning to do plugs, o2, fuel filter and relube my bcs.

I just literally almost fell out of my chair laughing, I meant your catalytic converter, assuming you still have one its probably toast from all the running rich and tuning from the rocker install

Sometimes the solution is so simple you don't want to admit it. Changed the plugs and o2 sensor and it seems to be all better. Indicated mileage is way up which tells me I'm using less throttle, so that's good.

On a side note, the o2 seems to have helped my fuel trims. I'm also fairly sure I had non-oxy in it when it was tuned. With non oxy 91, I see ltft around 0, often in the negative range. While coasting, it used to max out.
