So my 2000 Bonneville seems to have a transmission problem now. It is like delayed when shifting gears. It also slams harshly when it is shifting gears. (well, after it decides it finally wants to change gears) Sensor, tune-up, mount? I don't know if it could be. Thanks so much! |

Sounds like a dead ringer for a Pressure Control Solenoid problem. Check this thread out, hope it helps: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=25362 |

Yeah, it involves dropping the subframe partially to get into the side pan of the transmission. It's a little above the ability of the weekend warrior. |

I was hoping that someone on here would have a magic tranny wand that would fix it. I also need to have my PCS replaced (I think). I can't do it because I'm a sissy girl, and hubby doesn't have the time since it's hunting season. So if you have one I promise I'll send it back... lol |

In that link provided, read the article at Triple Edge Performance. In many cases, a shift kit will take care of the harsh shifts. I put one in my son's Grand Prix many years ago, and it is still shifting fine. If you can drop the transmission pan to replace the fluid and filter, you can do a shift kit. It's a more cost effective solution for those on a tight budget. |

Incase for those wondering why the shift kit "fixes" the shifts, it just basically overrides the PCS function. |

The referenced article at Triple Edge Performance http://tripleedgeperformance.com/Harsh_Shift__P1811.html does a good job of explaining it. |
