With all this talk about front hubs, has anyone had any rear bearing problems?

I have not heard of any rear hub replacements but I'm sure its not out of the realm of possibilities. I plan to check mine with each tire rotation from this point on.

Yup. Had to replace one on my car, as well as one on my friend's.

Since I sell car parts for Advance Auto Parts and used to work on cars for 7 years professionally, I have only sold or installed maybe like 10 rear bearings for this cars. It is common for the front wheel bearings to fail due to driving conditions, the fact that the front tires are your drive and steering tires, and your majority of the vehicle weight is right up front on the bearings with the weight of the motor and tranny.

I am getting a grinding/humming noise from my left rear wheel hub assembly. I heard it driving today. I can hear it when spinning the wheel by hand when I have it jacked up. I'll be replacing it this weekend.
