My wife's 2001 GPGT (L36) is leaking oil, mostly from the rear valve cover gasket.

Is there a particular replacement brand we recommend? The OEM gaskets are rubber, is that correct?

Let me know if there's anything else special I need to know. I'm going to be fixing this soon.

-Mark

Like said in chat: All gaskets for these cars are a rubber type material. Get Fel-Pro. They're good stuff.

Fel Pro rubber. Hold them in place using some silicon sealer.

Replace the donuts around the bolts while you are there. They are sold separate from the gaskets.

The grommets? I know the Fel-Pro kit I got came with them a year and a half ago...

If you order a FelPro top end kit, the grommets are included but not just with the valve cover gaskets alone IIRC.

Pretty sure the Fel-Pro Valve cover gasket set I got from Advance had them. I know I didn't buy them separately, and that was before they had the aluminum LIM gaskets.

The fel pro set has the gromets included, most other brands don't, including GM originals.
