Take note of the codes, then clear them all and see which ones come back and in what order they come back. Check things like fuel pressure, large vacuum leaks, any strange electrical problems occuring, like windows, seats, headlights, dash gauges not functioning proberly?

Yeah, the current codes should really help diagnosis.

The codes you pull may or may not help you. If the engine is missing on even one cylinder, that will pin the oxygen sensor response dead lean. That leads to other potential codes that may confuse the issue. I've seen professionals replace perfectly good O2s in similar situations, so don't go there.

I would certainly investigate the fuel injector wiring, especially at the harness connector (if it has one) going to the engine, before I did anything else.

If the engine will idle, remove each injector connector one at a time and note which cylinders are firing and which are not. The chances are that the engine will stall when you remove a good cylinder and have little effect when you eliminate a bad one.

It would also simplify things if you picked up a noid light at your local jobber to see what's happening at the actual injector plug. A simple noid light shouldn't set you back any more than about $10.00.

If the engine was running normally before this problem occurred, the chances are excellent that it's a simple problem so don't get too far away from the symptoms by throwing parts at it until you've eliminated the wiring/connections as the culprit.

Good Luck

Geoff

Have the Upper Plenum or Lower Intake Gaskets ever been replaced?

Was this one ever resolved? Did we hear anything more? It sounded a little interesting.
