Did the GXP's come with ceramic brake pads as OEM equipment? I would think so, but I'm not sure.

Thanks. Wouldn't hurt to use ceramic, would it? The ones on there now are squealing. Not sure what previous owner put on.

Highly recommend Akebono pads...

ACT1019 on the front
ACT 714 on the rears

http://www.showmetheparts.com/akebono/#

Much better OEM without all the dust coating the wheels and much better performance as well.

X2 Ceramics are soooo much nicer in keeping your wheels clean. I never had a car that dusts them so bad as the GXP with OEM pads.

I'm going to be replacing them for the second time in my ownership of the car. First time I did Napa premium stuff with their premium rotors and ceramix pads, which were nice in terms of lesser brake dust vs. semi-metallic. Downside (always one of those :D ), to ceramic (depending on how you drive it, I drive mine hard), is that they wear quicker.

This time around, I just got premium AC Delco rotors (thanks to Sleigh on here who gets *shoot* for cheap with his discount), and then I'm doing Hawk HPS pads (HB467F.540 for the front/HB359F.543 for the rear).

I wanted to do some slotted rotors with the hi-po pads, but either the cost on them were ungodly, or aren't made. Our front rotors are huge FYI! I gotta a happy feeling in my shorts when I saw Brembo made a rotor, but when I found out it was a regular, plain old disc, I decided not to spend the $$$ for the name.

I needed pads and rotors for my '05 GXP. First estimate - $500.

I got a friend of a friend who owns a brake shop to do it for $300.

got ceramic pads and new rotors (don't know the brand).

Feels good and definately less dust.

We also need to do pads. I'll do them before winter, when we get new tires, and trans fluid change and coolant flush. I've never seen dust that bad. It's insane.

That's the only thing I don't like about these Hawk Pads. They perform ungodly great, but a drive around the block and the wheels are black again.

I have Hawk HP Plus's on the GTO and after each cruise, I have to wipe down my nice wheels from the coating of brake dust... :(

I'll probably get NAPA's top quality ceramic pads, as I work at a NAPA Auto care center, and can get a discount on parts.

As I posted earlier... I installed the Akebono pads and am most pleased. They function as good or actually better than the stock ones with minimal dusting (or coating I should say).

Bvill-GXP? Why do you have a picture of my car in your signature line? [-X

$300.00 for all 4, Not bad
or just two?
I did all four rotors and pads for less than $400.00 installed myself.
