Well I am needing to replace my radiator in my 04 GXP, and they have metric and SAE thread available, I
figure the thread is metric, but would like to know before I pick up the part, also the replacement radiator is made by
Murray, any thoughts or has anyone used them? NAPA ordered one for me but, it did not have the oil cooler
in the radiator just the trans cooler, even though their computer said it did. I think it was in he wrong box.
any help or advice would be great.

As I sent back in a PM;

I get part number 89018529 also, but I also see an 89018716. Not sure what the differences are. Could simply be a revised design. Beyond that, I don't have any notes or "other" that clarifies whether SAE or Metric, however, I would have to believe it is a metric thread. I would just walk in to the parts department, give them the VIN# and they give me what I need.

I have not heard of Murray, so I can not speak to their quality.

That's the two part numbers is what I came up with also, and did I give the VIN# to the dealership they come up with
89018716, Then dealership came up with the idea that maybe 89018529 might be for a limo, Maybe a guess on his behalf,
and no one can verify Metric or SAE from the part numbers, I too figure it's Metric but imagine whichever part number I went with
would be the wrong one. Ha Thanks Lane so much, I will update you.

Truthfully, you *might* fine either way, as the SAE thread and the Metric thread may be pretty *dang* close anyway in regards into type of thread and pitch. One may simply be giving the measurement in SAE, another in metric.

I deal with a lot of used radiators with my inventory. It seems the fittings are always slightly different and I can never get them to interchange when I need them. I don't think there is a surefire way to know until you pull the fitting out and test it.
