Hey there, my Bonneville has the clear coat peeling off the hood and tops of the front fenders. I very been out of the auto body business for many years. What makes it peel? I think could it be the heat from the Engine? Or GM not doing something right?
I wonder with the dull paint will we have to put on more color then put on the clear.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in Advance

I'm not sure on the cause but from my limited knowledge any panel with failed clear will need to be stripped in order to be repainted properly. It'll never feather out enough when sanding the failed areas.

I was afraid of that. But would rather do that than have a crappy job done.
Thanks!
