This is my 1994. I lost a badge the other day or rather I pulled it off being I lost it because it was starting to come loose. I assume the best way would be just clean the old adhesive off and use that 3M body tape? What's the best way of going about getting that nasty hardened on (what once might have been body tape) off without screwing up the paint?

Another thing I noticed, when I wash the car, this nasty black stuff comes out of the spoiler area. Was there some type of sponge/adhesive that was put on the spoiler between the trunk lid? It looks like some type of foam that is disintegrating that is coming out with the water when I wash it.

Okay, now you're going to make me hurt myself. The logo on the '92 fell off a year or two ago (or more) and I had a devil of a time trying different things to "glue" it back on. IIRC it was a 3M adhesive after cleaning up both surfaces and sanding them smooth. - BC

Sanding?

You could try goo gone and one of those plastic scrapers to get that old tape off. And I had the same issue with the stock GP spoiler and pieces of foam coming off. When I put the GXP spoiler on, I got some rubber gasket material and put it on there.

Same thing happened on the 96. Goo gone is your friend, and I used E6000 glue to put the badge back on, some painter's tape for a day to be safe and that isn't ever moving again.

the back side of the logo and the "circle" it is (or was) attached to. Sand first, clean, "glue" - BC

Ah ok. I thought you mean that goey crap that was still on the paint.

I'll have to give that a try. With the rubber gasket material you just cut it to shape and put in on? No gluing or tape?

I believe the spoiler just bolts down (4 bolts in the trunk lid), but since there is some space, it allows junk to build up under there. I believe the spoiler can be easily removed.

I know it's only a few bolts but I didn't know if here was some type of foam/sealant or something. Under there or how that was attached.

I just cut it to fit and bolted it down.
