Blazer Projector+CCFL+factory fog housings.

Just whipped these together friday. Pretty straightforward project. Little jb weld and a bunch of dremel time.

Basically just cot out enough of the housing to drop the projector in. First i cut a hole in the center of the lence for the projector lens to poke through which is helpful for getting it centered and aimed when the mounting takes place. I just rested the projector in the lens and dropped the fog housing onto it. I then was able to epoxy it in place. First with a couple dabs of JB kwik, then with a couple full on goober coats of regular jb weld.

The ccfl rings are mounted to aluminum plates I made with clear epoxy. I wanted an even glow effect so I buffed the aluminum to a neutral sheen and left the remnants of the reflector surface in the fog light alone. Y then frosted the lenses by lightly sanding the insides with 800 grit. I also too that opportunity to sand down the markings inside the lens.

Yeah, those projectors are weatherproof, theyre designed to be used alone, fully exposed. I sealed them up with the other lens to keep everything nice and protect the ccfls.

I did it like that for a few reasons. Partly because the space was limited. Partly because the fog light lenses were shot and partly because i kind of like the look.

They look pretty cool. My fogs have all blistered on the inside so I have to do something with them - I doubt it will be anything as ambitious as this though, nice job.

Getting pictures to look right would be a challenge. Ill have to talk my photog buddy into giving it a shot.

That's an option, but these are dang near new and I'd prefer to leave them as-is.

EDIT. then that way youd have the stockers that are almost new..and these custom stockers..youve got fog lights that fit different driving conditions and attitudes..how can you say no?

How well do the projectors work for providing light driving down the road? I'm interested in doing something with mine so that I've got something relatively functional down there rather than just stock lights...

If you have halogen headlights, the blazer projectors with hid really help out a lot. If you already have his projector headlights, they're more for looks than anything. They add foreground lighting and actually reduce my distance vision.
