hud in a se
got a 1999se for my self to tinker with. kinda slow because of weather. motor was hydrolocked, and had sat for 8 months, i pulled plugs and spun it over and here comes the af. anyway last year i sold my 1997 sse, that my son wrecked pretty bad, but motor and trans were still good .so i thought humm maybe i should call the guy. so i did well he still has it so i bought it back .what i was wondering is how hard is it to put a hud in a se i also want to put the clusterin because it has the compass am i stupid for trying

Its been done by 1993 SLE and others. You'll need to get the wire pinout locations from a FSM.

If all you want is the compass, I suggest an audim/compass mirror install instead. Not only would you have to install the SSE cluster, but you would also have to install and run wires to, the compass module that sits in the trunk. Not a fun thing to do IMO.
With the rearview mirror compass, it's just 2 wires (or three, if you want to run the autodim turnoff in reverse feature), and the power/ground is already in the passenger pillar (where the sunroof gets its power...and that connector is in all cars, regardless if it came with sunroof or not).

2005 GXP - White Gold Pearl, no mods...yet.
2000 SSEi - Resurrection in progress. Built L67 w/L32 fuel rail, ported heads, and cam. Camaro front brake system, GXP cluster, and much more in planning.
