I installed a rear-view mirror with Compass and Temperature in my SE.

It was an easy install as 4 wires, is all that's needed to get it working.

I ran my wires in the headliner, over to the driver side column and down under the dash.

I have power, ground, and 2 wires for the temp. sensor hooked up.

I am wondering where a good location is INSIDE the car.

I have the climate control reading the outside temp, but I want a good reading of the inside temp, but nothing noticeable.

First, I had it in the dash, and my Headunit heated it up, then I put it between the footwell of the driver and passenger, but then the heat vents warmed it up to 97* last night.

So, any good ideas on where to mount this inside the car?

Well...the auto climate control interior sensor is above the driver in the headliner and is vented with a fan...at least in my truck, not sure on the bonnevilles.

I would think the headliner would be the best place...where..I don't know, but you might want to take a look at the auto climate control system sensors and the assy..maybe you could throw it together with that.

On the old 87-91 style the sensor was placed under the dash, beneath the defroster vents. I don't see why it wouldn't work in your application, you'd just have the hide the wires under the headliner and then down the A pillar trim.

Well, yesterday I decided to run the wires down the middle of the car and under my seat.

There was a small crevice in the floor carpet, and It is completely hidden.

The only way I could get to it was by putting the driver seat all the way up.

If the temp. is still not accurate, I will move it to Haro's spot.

I took it out from under my seat and moved next to the one circled.

Thanks again Haro!

so those holes are so the auto climate sensor knows what the interior temp is?

Next question.....where is the passenger side sensor? Or does the system just approximate the passenger side temp based on the driver side temp +/- the temperature setting offset?

As far as I know, there is only 1 sensor.

In this picture, that tube on the far left goes to the dash. There are no other tubes like that on the airbox.

I lied, I moved it again. It was heat soaking in the sun, where I last stated I had it, next to the ignition. I taped it to the frame that runs left and right, just in front of my knees in the driver seat if you pull off that knee bolster piece. Much more accurate, although it takes a bit of time to warm up on cold mornings.
