Hear me out.

So I was messing around with a F body 3.8 I have, and a decomissioned GTP, and discovered its possible for the F-Body style intakes to bolt on, if you extend a bunch of hoses and what so. But there was no room in those W bodys. Heres where it gets...brainstorming wise.

I recently found a random youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSRRDQgM8cE) that shows a gtp with that setup, proving it would work. I would prefer the F body intakes anyway, as I would assume they would be better than any FWD style intake for turbos and NA (due to the setup of the channels). This is speculation, mind you.

But us Bonnies got that engine bay space to do such a thing like this. And with the turbo setup on the other side near the crossover, it would be more benefical, in thought, to have the intake on the other side so
A. Your intercooler piping wouldnt be crammed to hell
B. All OEM aluminum intake
C. Away from said exhaust, therfore, in idea, reducing the heat soak that the throttlebody takes.

Again, im brainstorming and ill be putting this into practice once I find another Bonneville in my area for cheap. To have a setup like this would be interesting to see the gains of having the F-body style intakes vs the norm. I cant find any other evidence of this idea at all, youtube, forums, ect. So, if anybody knows anything about doing this before, please let me know. It would be a very interesting build, all things considered.

(And if anyone ask why, I have like, 2 1/2 Camaros that have 3.8s in my backyard, and i got time on my hands)

F-body upper and lower intakes have been done quite a bit in the past. I helped turbo a Regal back in '08 and my buddy went this route. There are 2 versions of the upper intake, the earlier version points the TB forward and the later version shown in that video doesn't angle the TB. The thermostat piping needs to be extended, the W-body coil bracket needed modification, the throttle cable reached and I think the TB wiring needed to be extended or re-routed.

I own most of the hot/cold sides and the intakes now since that car is gone. Sometime down the line I may install it on my 95. I just wanted to grab it since, outside of final TIGing, I did all the work fabbing it up and I know I won't have that much time to redo something like that in the future.

Was there any gain in power over the norm of turboing a Series motor? I would think it would perform better due to the fact it seems to be less resistance overall and smoother vs the FWD Lower and upper intake manifolds. And what about temps? The setup looks nice, deft something ima do in the future.

Also, do I need the impossible to find fuel rails that goes with the F body intakes or Can ZZP fuel rails work?

There is always a power gain when going to a turbo because it takes 30 horsepower to spin the old M90.

I'm not sure on the fuel rails. He had L67 heads and the stock fuel rails worked in the stock heads. We blocked off the lower intake manifold injector holes.

I'm sure the under hood temps were higher but it was intercooled. No issues with coolant temps.
