Does anyone have any thoughts on intercoolers, or an idea of power gains? I'm contemplating an intercooler for a springtime project.

My goal is to safely drop a pulley size or two, and retune. Are the gains worth the cost, and is the Stage 2 intercooler from ZZP considered the most robust?

Given the mods I already have, I'm not sure what the next step is to bring any appreciable gains-- No cam since I have rockers. I do plan on installing stiffer valve springs in the near future however.

Even the SSIC would allow you to drop a couple tenths on the pulley diameter. My custom 1-off home built intercooler on the ZiLLA was designed to be about 80% of the SSIC efficiency, and I dropped from a 2.55 to a 2.0 with no problems, and that's with the M62 creating more heat than the M90 does.

Lots of different things, and it's all posted. Remember that nobody makes one for a Series 1. (except me, of course)

Was it posted here, or at the other place? I only remember seeing stuff from WCBF about it, and when you were taking it off...

Very interesting link there to the Intercooler mod for the series I! Certainly lots of thought and preperation went into that mod! Great work as always Wren!

And here I was thinking about using a heater core to make one... This is one mod I wouldn't mind putting on the series 1, although I need access to a real machine shop first.
