I was curious if I could use an OEM oil pressure sender for a fuel pressure gauge? Electric fuel pressure gauges are fairly expensive. It would be nice to know if/when I'm having low fuel pressure issues without having to go under the hood. This ties into me using those darn SSEi gauges in my car again... |

Unless your fuel filter is clogged, the pump is faulty or the pressure regulator isn't working properly you will have either normal pressure or none at all. If you are keeping up with maintenance the filter should never be a problem, a pump on its way out would be noisy, and pressure regulators are very reliable. I don't think an oil pressure sender is compatible with gasoline, that's why the correct one is expensive. But I don't think it's worth the expense of installing one in your dash. Fuel pressure guages as part of a diagnostic kit are reasonably priced, and if you had fuel pressure problems you would be under the hood anyway looking to see why your engine won't run. Roger. |

You cannot use an oil pressure sender for fuel. It won't hold up to the solvents in the fuel. Adding a fuel pressure gauge will do nothing for you unless your'e running an AFPR like I am. |
