Ok so I emailed Intense to get a recomended setup and with the mods they provided they say that a 100 WHP gain is possible with just this.

The S1X cam package.
INT-FWI-xxx - INTENSE™ Fenderwell Intake Kit
•IMH-320 - INTENSE™ Modular Pulley System with 3.20" Pulley - L67 equipped vehicles ONLY
•GB6-660 - Goodyear Gatorback Supercharger Belt
•TST-180 - INTENSE™ High Performance 160 Degree Thermostat
•ASP-103 x 6 - Autolite® 103(three heat ranges colder than stock) Copper Core Spark Plugs
•SHK-30070 - SLP™ Ceramic Coated Headers
•SIK-30071 - SLP™ Header Installation Kit
•SHC-30073 - SLP™ High Flow Catalyst

Is that 100 WHP figure even close to right? :dontknow:

Also I was thinking about installing an intercooler as well to help with any knock this setup may give me and to give me another bit of power boost. Maybe the ZZP SS intercooler. Any thoughts on that?

I know that I will have to build my tranny before I do so many power mods as well I will be ordering one from Triple Edge.

With the performance mods listed including the IC what would be a good projected WHP increase?

If there is anything I may not have answered or forgot that I need to do include in this setup let me know as well. Thanks guys!

I have no experience but from everything I read about the short stack intercooler is that it's a waste of time. Go full size IC if you're gonna put the effort into installing it. Many would say it's MUCH cheaper to piece your own kit together. The whp figure is going to rely a lot on your tune but 100 probably isn't a bad estimate.

100 WHP is probably fairly generous. More like 65. Stock cars put down around 200, the cam, etc puts you at 250-260 tops, which is a little over 300 CHP. This is from what I've seen from cars being dyno'd over the past 3 years.

Will the full size IC fit under our hood?

where there's a will there's a way :P . I know I've seen someone on here mention using playdough or putty to measure available clearance. Place it on the high point of the engine and close the hood, open it up, take the dough out and measure it.

Acording to ZZP a 2.25 IC core will fit, if you remove the under hood mat. For my Gen V, i have to ad a TB turn down to get clearance for the TB

Alright so with these mods listed including the full size IC Where are my bottlenecks going to be?

Will a custom tune be able to change the fan on/off tables for the 160 degree thermo?

Can/Should any higher of a ration rocker arm be used with a cam?

I keep looking at that and keep thinking that a 160* thermostat is too cold, but you might be able to get away with it being where you live. Popular choice is usually a 180*.

And they should be able to drop your fan turn on temp as well with the PCM work.

Does or should anything need to be ported or any gaskets trimmed or anything like that to improve the efficiency of the engine with these mods? If so does anyone have links or info on how to do what can be done by me?

1.) No idea

2.) Yes, but a 160* is a bit extreme, even in CA...

3.) Not with stock heads

Look in my thread in this section, there is some more info. You can polish the LIM and chamfer the heads, which is what I will be doing in a few weeks.

Thanks Ed!

Sooo...what kind of heads are good to upgrade to and if I were to get them what rockers could/should be used and is there much to gain?

And might anyone else know what bottlnecks this setup will have that I will want to look into to make everything free flowing?

The S1X doesn't really have enough lift to justify a head-swap, and they're another $1500 on top of the rest of your parts list.

Stage 2 and up cams really need better heads.

I see so I basically shouldnt waste money on heads.

Is there anything I need to know to tell the tuners before I go get a tune? I have never had one done.

It is not that they "need" better heads, but the fact that they have too much lift for the valve guides and seals. The stock heads will cause the rockers to hit the valve guide seals if used with these cams. Basically you can use stock heads, but you need to shorten the valve guides.

Now P&P them will help flow in and out.
