As some of you know, we planned a mini-meet-road-trip this year for fall. 6 of us met up Friday morning to cruise on up to St. Ignace, stayed the night, met up with two more, then drove the tunnel of trees and hit up some scenic views, then back to SE MI for a small bonfire. Here are some of my pictures!

Rolling out!

Met up with another club member for lunch:

Many hours later, the first hint of actual fall color:

Our first waypoint! A scenic view at the 40 mile lighthouse

The next morning, before crossing the bridge back to the LP:

After adding to our convoy, we headed out to what I was hoping to be a fun road to drive on just before hitting the tunnel of trees. This road did not disappoint; 6 miles total of hairpins!

After a little fun, which could have been a little better with a smooth road surface, we headed into the tunnel of trees:

The last picture I managed to get, at the end. It was incredibly impossible to find a good spot to stop and get un-interrupted photos, be we finally found a spot:

Around this point my phone battery was screaming at me, even though it was plugged in and charging. I didn't manage to get any other photos of the rest of the scenic drive.

Overall, totally worth it. We got there a few days before peak color, but honestly a little green with the fall colors is better than brown dead foliage! I would totally do this kind of thing again; though less sit-down restaurants that add unpredictable hours to the trip.

I have some video but not as much as I’d like because I got a bad memory card. Going to have to edit that together soon here.
