It was a great time. It didnt take long for me to remember exactly why I come to these things. All these people are from totally different backgrounds and parts of the country but we all converge to hang out and party because of a car we may have owned. Haha, its hilarious. It was pretty neat to poke around Detriot(thats a misspelling Ill keep) a little bit too. We didnt even scratch the surface but seeing the totally abandoned neighborhoods and the former grandeur of the station above really drove home how much of a fall that city has taken. |

Oh, also, I cant wait to see your pictures, Greg. You were snapping away all weekend! I only took like 7 pics the whole time and half of them were trying to get my odometer when it hit 190000 about 5 miles from home. |

Okay, I have quite a few pics myself. I will post these now, and then I have a couple stories to share. Thursday Booze and I all gassed up and ready to leave: On the road: It was hot, and no A/C: Booze trying to cool himself down: Gwen and the Goat: Stopped at Wendy's for dinner: Thursday night, hanging out in Matt's garage: Friday Cars: And more cars: Ryan's V brakes: Checking out Randy's V brakes: Ryan Toth's boys observing the activities: Ryan applying some touch up paint to the Mutt: Love those wheels: Mmmm...: "Hi!": Shiny!: The little ones are learning: The learning continues: Headed to the track: Matt and Ryan lead the pack (anyone see the Bonneville in this pic?): Matt and Booze lined up: Everyone discussing their times: Saturday Everyone waking up and getting ready: Will's surprise SSEi: Getting gas before the 3800 meet: Purple!!: L67 powered Olds Cutlass: This thing would be so much fun to drive: L67 powered Blazer: Clean engine bay of an Impala: Bonnievilles!!: Ryan, Austin, & Kyle: Lunchtime!: Stopping for photos after the 3800 meet: Hanging out: Kyle's (now broken) amazing G8: Michigan Central Station - Front: Michigan Central Station - Top: I like this shot, but I had to almost lay on the ground to get it: Before the bonfire: Prepping the bonfire: The bonfire, stacked high: The flame was massive!: I find this angled, out-of-focus shot nice and creepy: Sunday Not a whole lot happened Sunday, except for rain, so in the late afternoon, those that were left finished off the meet with a marathon of Top Gear: Finally, here's a few panoramic shots from the station. Note, I left these untouched, so they are in their original resolutions, at almost 3MB a piece. That's all for now. I will have the short track video up soon, and later I will share at least one interesting/stupid story. This was another awesome meet, just wished the weather was better and that it was longer!! |

I wish I could have joined in on the fun but I did not know about the event. Is this an annual event only? If so, do you have a date set for next year? Are there any smaller, regional gatherings coming up? I live in Commerce Township, MI and own a 1990 SSE that's my daily driver. I did a poor man's restoration over the winter. It's not as nice as most of the cars I saw in the photos but I like it. Let me know if anything else is coming up. Thanks, Ren |

Looks like an awesome meet and heck of a turn out! Great looking cars by all! Looks like a pretty awesome train of cars you had roaming around the streets. Thanks again to Matt for hosting such an awesome event! |
