Wracked up almost 600 miles in the past 3 days driving around trying to find a new DD for a friend of mine. Even through the snow, cold, sleet, rain and salt Penny performed flawlessly. She also spit out a 30.4 MPG average, despite our late night bouts of snow drifting. I've come to a whole new level of appreciation for this car. So comfy.. Heated seats, upgraded sound, auto climate, relatively quiet cabin. Set the cruise at 70 MPH and watch the odometer climb. All while sitting there and doing nothing, just holding the wheel with one finger. With my Flowmasters humming behind me at a steady 1700 RPMs, I almost got lulled to sleep. However, I don't she's ever been this dirty in her life. She looks like such a trooper.



She has SO much salt on her. The SLE badge has almost disappeared. Also, there was so much snow packed at each of her wheels. That chunk laying in front was so heavy I could barely lift it. She's such a bad racekar that she adds weight to herself.

Wow, that is a crap-ton of salt!! I agree, with the problems these cars seem to have, they are so many things I still like about them.

I only wish mine had heated seats. My butt gets very unhappy when it has to sit in a cold leather seat in the morning.

I've not seen that much salt on my car this year. We have had some cold weather, but whenever we have a cold snap and salt put on the road, the weather quickly turns milder again and the rain comes and washes all the salt away.

I've been trying to keep on top of washing my car too. It was warm enough for me to wash it last weekend, so I did.

Well, it snowed again today so she got another layer of salt on her. I want to wash this car so bad, but then I think to myself that there's no point cause it won't look good anyways, and it's probably gonna snow or rain again soon so it would be a waste of time.

I would almost be satisfied with the looks of this car if I could get that hood resprayed and if I could bump out that rear dent just a touch more. But both those are expensive options. Honestly, I might rinse it and shine up the rims. Otherwise, there's no point. Plus you remember that gouge in the front passenger door that some red car driving moron implanted. :/

I always hate this time of year, as I can never keep any of my vehicles clean. I'd hose them off at the car wash, but by the time I'm at the end of the street, it's covered in salt again. I usually wait until the dry days, and just hose the underside. I can't wait til spring - I can give my Bonneville a proper cleaning!!

Not sure I can muster up enough to care about the friggen mirrors enough to hunt down a set of Ivory White Aurora mirrors. Much less do anything more than slap some touch up paint on this one. Nothing else on the car is perfect why should the mirrors be?

This poor thing has been taking a beating, and it is starting to show its age.

Yes, I hate winter. Rock salt from a salt truck chipped my HUD windshield in 5 spots. And you think silver looks bad with salt, the SE is now also white without the ability to discern between the headlamps and the grille. I just took it to the carwash on Sunday night.

The worst part is when ice chunks up inside the back of the rim, behind the spokes.
