Sold my '96 Chevy ext cab 4x4 for $2,600. It was rusted pretty bad, 202,000 miles and cloth interior. Picked up this '99 Suburban for $2,400, three row leather seating, 50% - 75% Hankook Dynapro ATM 265/75/16 tires on newer style Chevy truck wheels, MUCH MUCH less rust then the old truck, and 25,000 miles less :beerchug:

Was wrecked at some point and both bags blew, passenger was replaced with one that is tan vs gray and steering wheel is now a Corvette wheel so it goes really fast! Has been painted from the windows down from the front doors back, can see some sanding marks etc but still a million times better then the truck was. Some rust through but the rockers are all solid as are the doors. All said and done I am very happy with this!

Front door looks lighter in the picture, not sure why, looks perfectly fine in person, even double checked

Typical drivers seat tear, no CD player, and gotta love the standard sagging net on the back of the seats... :)

Not sure I am crazy about the Corvette steering wheel though...

You can definetely see where they painted it going back on the passenger side.

It needs an 8' plow on the front, right CementMixer?

Great deal on a very versatile ride. :beerchug:

I actually like the Vette wheel :) as for the paint, you can't tell from the picture. I should mention that this is not washed and after driving over an hour in the rain, the color difference you see is just dirty.

Gave it a quick wash today, the paint is pretty much exactly as expected, trashed. The good thing about that though is there is a TON of room for improvement :btruestory:

After the wash.

Now, time to inspect the condition of the paint. You think it looks pretty good from those pics above? Hell no, think again!

The flash shows the deeper defects, now lets look at the lighter defects :eek2:

Soon I will do a quick all in one polish with HD Speed and call it good for a while, eventually it will get a solid three step for *dang* near perfection :beerchug:

Congrats on the new truck! Looks good with the NBS wheels. You got the best year, IMO. Last year of the old body style. Thats what my dad's got and it has been rock solid. It has needed nothing in the last 10 years (120k miles, now got 180k on it.) aside from a new fuel pump a few months back. And brakes and tires, of course.

Should see at least another 100k out of her. Gotta love a bullet proof Vortec 350. Not sure if I'm a fan of the LS motor in my truck yet :???:

Looks great! I just always love a black Suburban - they look look like an imposing secret service vehicle. Looking forward to seeing what you'll do with the paint on it!

Looks great! Cutting compound followed by polish should improve that paintwork.
