1927 Chevrolet Cabriolet -how often do you find a 1927 car for sale by it's original owner -we will say he made money on it (we paid him $3300 for it -IIRC he paid $6xx for it), but we still got a time capsule and it'd probably bring 3-4 times what we paid for it if we post it up FS in the right publications.

It's amazing how much that looks like my dad's 27 Ford Model A. It even has a Buick front fender on it, and it barely looks any different than the other fender.

No way no how!! This car is going to look like it did the day the first owner bought it if we keep it. No doubt if we sell it it will go to someone with those same intentions.
This car is SOLID and aside from the rear fenders is solid -there are cars rotting into the ground that the frame and body parts have split that should be used for rat rods/hot rods.

Nice score. IIRC, one thing to look out for on the Chevy's of that vintage was that they used wood instead of steel around the cab area for reinforcement so dry rot can be a problem.

Yup, it's got the wood cabin frame. Surprisingly it is still in great shape -we've been seeing pics and reading about the common dry rot areas and this thing is still nice and solid. Even the body, for being in MN it's whole life only has light surface rust b/c the paint wearing off and the chips. Nothing is rusted through except the tail-pipe -I'm sure the muffler is shot, but the shell is solid.

My grandpa was the original owner of my dad's 27. He's passed on, but grandma is still kicking at 98. Turns 99 in November! Grandpa was a year or two older.
