I totally agree...I would MUCH rather use a regular IRC client. The flash thing has been doing a LOT of timing out lately. Of course, if this flash based stuff really IS an IRC chat, then just let us know what the channel is so we can get there with our clients!

Keep in mind our current chat is 'intertwined' with the Forum database for logins, profiles, etc. A ban from here is a ban from chat, etc. It's very deeply integrated, which is the primary reason Paul went this direction on it.
