Why do we need to have the option to display deleted PM's?

example for those who haven't had it happen to them.

You send a PM to someone, but then for some reason you decide you don't want to send it. You go to your outbox and delete it. However the person that you sent the message to, still gets notification that you sent them something. It just makes them curious to what you wanted and they end up asking you anyways.

I guess I don't entirely understand your question. I understand that if you send a PM, then take it back before they read it, they will log in and see nothing new, correct so far? Because you intially sent the PM, they will get the e-mail saying there is a new PM for them. That e-mail cannot be undone of coarse.

Can you clarify a bit?

Nope, it doesn't work that way.

Send me a PM and then delete it. I'll screenshot my inbox.

I think I have to be logged off for it to work, so I'm gonna log off for 5 minutes.

A quick search says we have 2 options.

1) take it as it is...

or

2) I can disable the delete after send option supposedly.

If they subscribe to the PM email option (i think it's opt'd in by default) then they'll know anyways.
