Ahh... so the filter does just sit in the well. I've been wondering about this for a long time as to whether this is feasable on an 87-91 car. Eric... Have you ever replaced the lower intake gaskets on the engine? If for any reason you need to go in there for the gaskets, that would be the time to do a bit of work to the intake...

There is a little room for improvement... And it would most likely give you a little extra added throttle response

I think you will have a tough time getting it out... Not sure but you may have to undo the front trans mount to sub frame and jack the engine & Trans up to get enough room to get it out.. Little bit of a PITA
