I had an 89 SSE for a little bit, then my 95 SE, the 91 LE, The 95 Trans Sport 3800 and then the 03 SLE.. For whatever reason the 3800 are in my blood.. I feel that the 3800 was GM flagship V6 for the longest, much like the 350V8..

Generally if you are a tooth off it could still run, but may run poorly.. If all of the timing marks were spot on when you added tension to the belt, I would then tell you to look elsewhere.. 1 tooth can make a big difference in the way it runs, but on the money is simply that. Is the Check Engine l...

I have new tires in the shed which are 235/60 16 W rated High Performance Sumitomos W rated, 500 wear with a 100 load rating.. I am looking at a Falken off ...

Ditching the set up will not hurt it at all.. 96 was the last year for the oil cooler on the H body.

It will settle some, but its still going to be higher than stock.. I had to do my front struts recently as they were making some nasty noises and felt crunchy... So I had a set of Olds F41 springs in the shed... I used those springs and it set the nose of the car down just like I wanted... Now tho I...

Being here over the last 13 years I have time and time again seen members and their loved ones walk away from accidents That could have been muck worse in other cars.. Its amazing how well these cars held up to various accidents.. It sucks to have a car like that wrecked, but it did its job and kept...

I have seen the salt climate on the beach down here eat rotors up, Pitting like I have never seen on factory rotors.. But that is the salt spray from the ocean.. Also eats beach cars alive... I would assume the winters up there could do the same with the salt used on the roads.. Its rough on rotors....

I hear mine first thing in the morning and thats it.. And it is a nasty groan.. Drive a block and it doesn't do it.. Before I did the brakes it was the left side, after I did the brakes its the right side.. Soon I will go through the brakes again and I will get Bendix Titanium Metallic Pads( Have ha...

The SLE option package is a strange mix.. 93-96 had the SLE option without the badges or trim kit.. 95-97 SLE package also allowed you to check off the L67 box..lol

Do you like the current ride quality? Don't buy the aftermarket springs..

If you change the springs and are looking for something a bit stiffer grab the FE2 springs and bars from a 2000-2005 FE2 Bonneville.. What ever you do stay with the stock springs, no aftermarkets..

Hmmm.. I would love a Tahoe myself.. And iirc even these big trucks are emissions friendly.. Hell the 1995 Series II 3800 had emissions of .0002 grams per mile in 1995.. My van met the same emissions requirements as the 95 bonneville.. But at the time this was not called low emissions.. My 03 bonnev...

I honestly feel that a valve cover gasket should be regular maintenance.. if it leaks at 150,000 miles it should be your problem.. lol.. I tend to install new felpro valve cover gaskets when I do the lower gaskets.. Just makes sense.. Matt, I would love to see the look on their faces when they pop t...

Thats kind of what me and Brad( Sandrock ) were into... It did take more work to make the PCM work with the 92-93 electronics and harness, but it was not horrible.. It was easier to do the newer PCM and harness on a 94-95 as they were half way to OBD2..LOL I would love to have a VVT 3.6 305 HP in th...

What part of Detroit are you from? As well I would say any medium to large cooler should work fine.. The 4T60E did have a bad habit of getting a little too hot, keep them cool and they last a long time.. I have a massive Hayden cooler on my 95 Bonneville.. 213k trans still shifts awesome, no slippin...

Just a quick update.. The SLE did a 4000 mile stint, from Florida to West Virginia.. Then to Kentucky and Michagan and Back.. The hottest it got going up 5 and 6% grades was 191F.. This was running between 3000 and 4500 Rpms.. With the trans adding to the heat stress I'd say the car did quite well.....

Look on the passenger side sub frame near the compressor, there should be bolts that hold the sub frame together there.. As well there should be bolts on the drivers side rear sub frame.. If the bolts are there you should be able to separate the section of sub frame with the engine supported, making...

Yes the L36 in the W and H bodies varied due to the exhaust restriction due to the U bend on the W body.. The W body L36 was 195 Hp and the H body was 205 Hp/230 ft lbs.. L36 and DBW L36 in the RWD F body was 200 Hp/225 ft lbs for all years 95-02 iirc.. The series III L26 DBW was 197 HP iirc.. The s...
