My parents had a 2012, but it was a loaded up TDI with the DSG. It had 235/40R18 tires factory, and it handled like a champ. No wandering, very direct steering. I wonder if they haven't cheapened them up with the mid-cycle redesign. Hope not. |

Did a quick search on ls1gto and I found it. Took me 10 minutes to fix it. What happens is that over time the plastic rod that clips to the ratcheting mechanism pops out which causes it to not lock. I drilled a hole and tied it up with mechanics wire. And for the first time ever, I have a car where... |

A 130k GXP in running condition is only worth about what you would have invested into it to get it running, so you wouldn't necessarily turn it for a large profit. Flipping it would not be my plan. I would hope to have a nice fairly reliable car for $4500, that I could drive for quite a while, then... |

Also, I'm really going to be needing a ride in it at the meet. A ride? No, I plan on bang-shifting this thing from Matt's to Big Boy and back, at the very least.
Looks great Ryan!!! |

3800's are fickle to rebuild. Some do it and have no problems. Some, no matter how much time they spend checking clearances, having everything cleaned and perfect, spin a bearing after 500 miles. It seems like there was some magic that happened at the factory that didn't quite make it into the rebui... |

The chunked piston was found on a GP forum. Just an example of what happens when you have too much knock.
I fully agree to run as much as you safely can. I have a feeling his setup, unless he's at 6,000+ feet of altitude, will run well, with little knock, on a 3.4. |

You guys must have some magic 91 in Phoenix, because none of us can run 3.25's with basically no mods and not blow our *shoot* up. If it works for you, great. I'm not one to tell people the quickest way to blow their *shoot* up. |

Yeahhh, 3.4 would probably be well-sized for that combo. Your scanning and tuning will tell you what works best on your car though. If you go to a 3.4 I'd go to Autolite 104 plugs too, they're another heat range colder than the 605's. |

You can do that if you can turn it quickly. That always isn't an option when you factor in the fact that both of us worked long hours at our regular gigs, and having to wait until weekends for junkyard excursions and wrenching. You usually have ~30 days before having to license something here so if... |

Yeah, there just happened to be a stack for $2.99/qt, and I grabbed 3 cases, then at checkout the computer told the cashier to tell me there was a rebate. The rebate is $2/qt. Score! |

Advance bought CarQuest and is closing them all.
I don't think any damage was done, especially if you didn't notice low oil pressure.
I got Pennzoil Platinum 6 packs for $0.99/qt a few weeks ago at a local Farm and Fleet store, after rebate... |
