Yeah. Adding a cold-air intake with a cone-style element will make the whine louder. That's the easiest first step. Bypassing the BBV won't really do you much. |

That sounds silly. The second you touch the throttle it slams the BBV closed anyways. You only LOSE by doing this mod. Lose mileage, lose driveability, lose efficiency. |

What mod would that be? I'm not aware of any mods to the Boost Bypass Valve. The only way to make it louder is to fill the silencer ports. However, that involves welding by someone who's really experienced with a TIG welder welding aluminum castings. Otherwise you might blow a big chunk of aluminum ... |

I'd do a second gear pull at WOT till it shifts. I think you're over-thinking it lol. Just go for a run on the highway. There's nothing scientific about it, lol. |

Honestly, in a 1989 LE, whatever is on sale will be fine. It all comes out of the same holes in the ground, and most of it is just branded bottles with almost identical detergent packages in it. The rest of it is all marketing BS. The only places it all really matters is a high-end, close tolerance ... |

5W-30, in whatever flavor you like/is on sale at the parts store/oil change place should be plenty for those temps. It's all I ever ran in my 03 SSEi and that sat out in the elements in a parking lot at a private college in Central MN, lol. We had some nasty cold spells.
Where do you live? |

Seafoam is always a good tool for that too. I'd hop on the highway or whatever road leads out of town, and go about 20 minutes/miles. Then turn around and get it up to 80 or so as quick as you can. Maybe do that twice, to be sure. That's all the italian tuneup you need. Anything else just wastes gas. |

Ah, I recognized that airbag as soon as I opened the post. Congrats! I give the V6 owners endless amounts of *shoot*, but they're nice cars. Any info on the timing chains? They're the only major issue the V6 G8 has, engine wise. Otherwise it seems like the Android radio some people are importing fro... |
