PLAGUE PHANTOM, my issues revolve primarily around misinformation in this topic. Your two comments were both either wrong or way off base. Had both tidbits related to this issue, and the OP listened, he might still be struggling with his car. Every GM H body from 92-99 uses the same ones, add the Bu... |

We can pretty much guarantee you that it's not the oil pump. How much coolant got into the oil before your manifold gasket repair? How long was it there before the oil was drained? Or is it one of those things that you don't know when it started or how long? |

2.5" is WAY more than enough. I'm flowing a ton, and my cutout only buys me about a tenth of a second on the 1/4 mile. That should tell you something.
Go for the longest resonator you can fit. I cut the flanges shorter on mine to be able to use the longer one. |

You do not have a resistor unless you have ECC. Have you tried looking at your HVAC unit...sometimes the knobs won't work and you have to replace the unit Absolutely wrong. WITHOUT ECC you have a resistor. WITH ECC you have a solid state controller in it's place (same location). Be thankful you do ... |

If I don't will I have detonation and ruin the engine? I know it only cost 5-6 bucks more to use premium but I'm a cheapo.lol Precisely what will happen. But it costs you less to run premium in the long run. You get better mileage without damaging the motor. If premium fuel isn't in your budget, yo... |

That's exactly what I have. A Magnaflow 4" with a 2.5 inlet and outlet. For a 3" setup, the 5" may be the only choice. It takes out about 50% of the drone, and all the rasping and popping. The WOT sound remains unchanged. I still retain some cruising drone, but I can kill it by openin... |

Glasspacks change their sound over time. I prefer traditional resonators for this reason. |

Matt drove the chicken down, met the PRD2BDF family at our place, and then headed out with them to Newport and Lincoln City for the day. Same route and stomping grounds of WCBF fame. |

Nobody here (at least hundreds running the FWI) has ever had a water issue. The 92-99 run it lower than the 2k it was designed for, and I've never had an issue, nor has anyone else. You have bigger problems if you're that deep. You'd have to be in 18" or more of water and moving very slow for i... |

The S1 is already a torque monster. You can't add a single HP without adding 1.5 tq. The 4.3 stroker is simply a stupid mod based on that alone. You have to be able to add horsepower without the torque overcoming the rest of the drivetrain. It's almost impossible. Don't forget I'm on my third differ... |

I had my doubts about driving the ZiLLA an hour out of town to meet up with a couple members for dinner. My fears were well founded. I think you're a fool with no money if you pour that into the car. Put it back to a Gen3 like it's supposed to be and enjoy the last couple years the car has left. It'... |

Funny thing is that both Bonnevilles had 'hiccups' on the way down. ZiLLA was spewing fuel under the hood. The cap for the fuel gauge fitting on the rail. If it hadn't been for the hood vents, I might not have smelt in time.
The Chicken had some burps at low RPM's that Matt hadn't seen before. |

Don't buy a puller from pulley boys. Buy one from NAPA. Standard 3-Jaw. Leave the heads alone. You're only inviting trouble you wouldn't otherwise have, especially if you've never done 3800 heads with TTY bolts before. It's not a cake walk. Those head gaskets won't blow or leak in the lifetime of th... |

Why head gaskets? You're better off leaving them alone. And on that note, if you remove the heads, you need new head bolts and rocker bolts. They are not reusable. You need a 3-jaw puller, not a ZZP or INTENSE puller. Do you have a press available? 1/8NPT tap with a welded extension? Brass/grease fi... |

Depending on pad material, driving habits, and environment, don't plan on them staying clear in the long term. I've had 2 sets of slotted rotors in the past, and both had problems in varying degrees. I use a screwdriver to clear the slots at least once a year. |
