Re: fuel economy
Maxi, I've reset that on the information center before. and checked it several times last year. it was getting a good solid 21 mpg. it sat most of the winter as i was getting wierd things to happen only to find the ICM was doing it. replaced it and the car runs like it should. I replaced the Cat ...

Re: fuel economy
Maxi, on my trip I use a program called Torque, it records all vital data as i drive. the temp seems to rise like normal. and the car runs at 198f the entire trip.
RR, not sure on the upstream but if it was failing wouldnt it give a code? I can watch the data from both o2 sensors and they both ...

so I have a 05 SLE and a few month back I was having an issue with the ICM. I was having issues with random misfires, dead spots in throttle, chugging ect. I took a ICM off a 03 and put it on my car and problem solved. no more issues, car runs great. However I do not drive the car much , maybe 50 ...

Re: Radio woes
Nos4blood70 that is good to know, I've never used onstar so I would have no idea about that until now.
Jeffssei , the reason I was thinking about the combo is kinda obvious, if you can get all you want and need in 1 package then why not go that route and save a few bucks too. I asked about the 2 ...

Radio woes
so I have a question about replacing the radio in my SLE. the one in it is truly awesome, I mean it has am/fm/XM/cassette/cd/steering wheel controls/handles the chimes and onstar connection. I don't use the XM or OnStar however and I live in a small town that really doesn't play the music I like. I ...

Re: Da Squirrels
well there are 2 hickory trees right beside my car port. Hmm hot pepper ya say.. I might look into that. I had thought about dousing the engine and insulations areas with Clorox or Ammonia. I tried dryer sheets already. someone said they cant stand that smell. but maybe this rodent is downy soft. lol.

Da Squirrels
So i'm desperate here. my beautiful 2005 SLE has been the attack of a terroristic squirrel or chipmunk. it's chewing off the insulation under the hood and leaving me hickory nut shells. thought at first it was a red squirrel and so I set a live trap and caught it.. I relocated it about 15 miles down ...

Re: Cadillac converter
in all honesty, when I had issues with my 2005 SLE I thought the cat was plugged up because it was smelling hot and bogging down under stress. so I beat the cat inners out.. and although it was not the issue I had it did run better. The thing is after I found my engine issue I did like the others ...

Re: P0300 now.
Just a update sorry it has been a while. dad passed away from cancer and so the SLE was put on hold. In any rate, yesterday I bought a ICM with new coil packs, installed them in minutes. crazy how easy they were to install. and seems to have cured all the problems. car runs fine, no missing, no ...

Re: P0300 now.
I have not fully checked the wires. I did however look for a short in them. in the dark while running it with the engine cover off, I checked for any arcing. moved wires all over, made no difference. and they were replaced 2 years ago.
on the Maf though, I have not tried it unplugged. ( makes a ...

P0300 now.
well earlier I thought I might have had a trans problem with it chugging under load. I had 0 codes , nothing even in the history. yesterday however, I managed to get a p0300 and a misfire on cyl #4. So I put all new ac delco iridium plugs in it 41-101. I pulled all the coil packs off the ICM and ...

Re: Sunroof?
well here is what I just tried.. I've tried pushing that button forward, pulling it back to the express and to the full open. as far as pulling down on the switch it doesn't seem to pull down, just back or forward. perhaps it is broken I dunno. i'm looking directly at the owners manual. the owners ...

Sunroof?
ok i'm pretty embarrassed to even ask this but.... my 2005 SLE has a sunroof in it, with 1 button, you hit the button 1 time and it slides in half way or you hit and hold it and it goes all the way inside. I push it forward and it will go forward and close and seal.. no big deal right but my ...

plugs and wires
2005 SLE 3800 series 2, non SC. going to change out the wires and plugs, any votes on the good plugs to use? I know Bosch are scrap, go for acdelco? was looking at 41-101 iridium plugs. think those are best for the buck? also looking at acdelco 9746dd wires set. or ya think maybe get aftermarket ...

Re: Quad high beam lights?
wow those are impressive.. I have the tools, I lack the steady hand and finesse to do that kind of work. I did buy a new aftermarket set of headlights, but they only have 1 adjuster on them for some reason. when I turn the low beams on, it is very low to the ground. seems odd they wouldn't have made ...

Quad high beam lights?
is there someone who has done a quad beam setup to use all 4 headlights while on high beam? if so could you link me to the post? I'd like to try this on my 2005 SLE. I've been driving a lot at night and wet blacktop roads seem invisible to me. I bought and replaced the OEM headlight assemblies with ...
