Re: oil pressure question??
It's important to keep an eye on your oil pressure. These cars do have an oil level sensor, so if you lose more than a quart or so of oil that will come on, but I wouldn't rely on that to ensure your engine isn't being harmed.
Thanks but that doesn't answer the question about what happens after ...

Ya know, I'm not sure. I'll make a note to check it after a long trip.

Re: Exaust Coming Out of Tip After Engine Off
Best to my knowledge, it's not condensation (I stuck my nose down there and took a whiff). With a warm engine, I can pull out of the driveway, drive it 100 yards and back into the driveway. Not sure it would do it if engine was dead cold.

Re: oil pressure question??
Question: When the oil pressure sensor fails and pegs out,\ to 120, does it become an immediate concern to replace it asap? I was told the next step in the failure is you can loose all of your oil. I'm not at all failure with the workings of the sensor, so forgive me if this is an ignorant question ...

Exaust Coming Out of Tip After Engine Off
Is this a tell-tail sign of something I should be concerned about?
When I shut off the engine, exhaust continues to come out of the exhaust tip for about 90 seconds. What's odd is it seems to be coming out of the tip under slight pressure as opposed to just drifting out of the tip. Also, this ...

Best Way Method to Sell Bonneville Ssei
Hi folks.
The day has come to sell my 2002 Ssei. It's my wife's car and she is find the car no longer meets her needs. She transports two grand-kids and wants something more of an suv to drive.
I'm thinking my options are:
1. Trade in
2. Internet such as ebay, cars.com etc
3. Local marketing ...

Re: Catalytic Converter that Won't Throw a Code
Yea... I simply had the shop install them. I was sort of under the gun... I needed to get the car back today and didn't have the time to engage in all of my options. So bit the bullet and had them do the install. They installed Bosh.

Re: Catalytic Converter that Won't Throw a Code
I am having the cat installed today at a local muffler shop. Before they even looked at the car they suggested because of the age of the car and miles, I should replace the o2 sensors.
I don't recall ever having them replaced.
Should I have it done as a precaution?
Is there a way to test them?

What would be most logical .... a direct fit or universal fit? I know that last three that were installed were universal.

Re: Catalytic Converter that Won't Throw a Code
Yea, I think programming it out would cause it to fail, but not 100% sure on that. I am so glad I live in a state without inspections!
I think $1,200 is pretty steep for replacement, but I am sure others will know of a good part number that will get you going without any trouble.

Re: Catalytic Converter that Won't Throw a Code
Not a question of being annoyed but the need to pass state inspection. It's throwing a code and I'm told the cat needs replaced. It did have a bad maf sensor that was replaced after the most recent cat replacement. In Delaware they hook up a code reader as part of the inspection process. Would ...

Catalytic Converter that Won't Throw a Code
Guys,
I will be soon having my forth cat installed on this car (the original and three aftermarket cats). The dealership informs me they can do the job for $1200. I've done a search and see the error of my ways.
Is the info on cats that won't throw a code and their part numbers in this link ...

OK, thanks.
Regarding the UIM, how long can I expect before it fails (I realize that question is tough to answer).

Should Replace Both Manifold Gaskets at Same Time?
My mechanic informed I need to replace my lower intake manifold gasket. Assuming the upper intake manifold gasket will eventually fail, how much labor would I save if I had him replace both at the same time versus replacing them on two separate occasions?
Since the lower intake manifold gasket ...

Re: How Many More Miles Should I Expect From Ssei Trannsmiss
I hope so. I want to keep the car for at least another 6 years. At that rate, the car will have about 270,000 miles on it. I just don't see a tranny lasting that long. But who knows. If it's anything like my 92 SE, the passenger compartment was disintegrating. Particularly the plastic. I think that ...

I put a Jasper re manufactured engine in it about 4 years ago. It only has about 70k on it.
