Re: rust next to gas door

Archon, thank you for taking the time to follow up on my question. I am an "Old Guy" and "Word of Mouth" advertising is what I still look for. Although I do recognize that "Results may Vary" and "No Warranties or Guarantees" are expressed or implied by your statements. When working with someone new ...

Re: rust next to gas door

Achron: I have already talked with Chris at West End Body. He is very knowledgeable and willing to take on my project. I know that rust will always come back. How long ago did you get the work done and is it still in Good Condition? I would just like to have a time frame in which I might need to get ...

Re: rust next to gas door

Does anyone know if there are repair kits or full panels still available for the Bonneville? My current love is a 2002, SSEI, Granite Gray with 148,000 miles. I plan to take it to 300,000 so I have redone Upper Intake manifolds, Suspension all around, brakes, HID Headlamps, Sound insulation on the ...

Paint Problem around Gas Cap Door

I looked for the perfect 2002 SSEI. Gray with black interior. I would have settled for higher mileage, but I did get one with 97,000. It has had some mechanical issues, but all of them have been within my realm of expertise.

I was especially interested in finding one that did not have the paint ...

Transmission Hard Shift when warmed up

I have recently purchased a 2002 SSEI. It is my sixth Bonneville and my third SSEI. The vehicle has only 97,000 miles. I have done the Intake Manifold Gaskets. The Transmission Fluid is not in the best shape and I do not know if it has ever been changed.

When the car is warmed up and everything is ...

Still want the OEM Radio

I know everyone here will offer an opinion on this one. I like the OEM radio that came with my 2002 SSEI. The digital display for the station and other info is "Gone". I have searched for used.....new....and replacement with aftermarket.

I would still like to keep the OEM. Has anyone had one ...

Re: Coolant Elbow, into intake manifold

Thanks for the update on the Gaskets. I have been "On-the-road" all week and did not get a chance to look at this post.

I will definately use the aluminum. I planned on the Supercharger Gasket too. But, I see that it may not come with the set. That's a good "Heads Up".

I believe that the 2002 was ...

Re: Coolant Elbow, into intake manifold

Thanks for the response. I may look into the metal ones before I do the intake manifold gasket. I use this car for my business and I do extensive travel. I am a "Trained" auto mechanic having gone through the Mo-Tech Automotive School back in the late 70's. I know that things have changed since then ...

Coolant Elbow, into intake manifold

I have driven Bonnevilles since 1984. I have really enjoyed the 3800 and in 2000 switched over to buying SSEIs, only. When I am done with them, I have sold them to the many boys who run with my sons. My youngest son owns a 2002 SSEI that he bought last February. He had the coolant elbow fail and ...
