At least your rear drum brakes work. I have an '84 and an '86 that don't. I kid you not, 300,000 on my '84 K2500 with original rear shoes, no wear at all.
I'm seeing this with more and more cars... the braking seems to be 98% front, 2% rear. The rears work on my Bonneville (been ...

ABS Braking systems... still two systems?
After redoing my ABS lines, and bleeding them, I'm curious, are our brakes still truly redundant?
In the old days, the front system and rear system had no fluid connection below the shared reservoir. But now all this funnels into the mysterious ABS modulator. Are the systems kept separate? If so, I ...

Re: ABS brake line routing
Wow, I was totally wrong! Sorry about that! I guess it got you figuring out what was the correct information, though. I'll edit my post to reflect I'm totally off my rocker there...
Well, its hard to remember this stuff. I've got a photographic memory, and I still managed to screw up this stuff ...

Re: Brake line replacement - inline valve ?
Bucky,
I have a 93 Bonne. Facing back of car on my left is the rear wheel I am working on - brake line routes to the rearmost ABS port under the hood - closest to firewall. I am reusing my valve (proportioning or residual?) Good luck on your routing !!!!
Milty
Thanks.

Re: ABS brake line routing
After much searching, I finally found clear shots of an ABS modulator on eBay without the bracket. Its nearly impossible to see the labels even if you know where they are. I could see nothing on mine.
I created an updated graphic showing the ports and where they go. Feel free to post, copy, put in ...

Re: Brake line replacement - inline valve ?
Milty,
Not to hijack your thread, but since you are freshly working on the same basic problem I am, can you tell me what year your Bonne is and which rear wheel you are working on is routed to which ABS port? I mixed up my rear lines while replacing rotted brake line and I'm really in need of some ...

Re: ABS brake line routing
Any chance you can line up the old brake lines and figure it out?
I've tried that... but I'm not confidant enough in that. At this point, I really need a guide to be sure.
Of course, this has to be back together and bleed tomorrow... so at some point, I'm going to go with my guess... but if I'm ...

Re: ABS brake line routing
IIRC the ABS pump should have each port indicated.
Everyone is telling me that, but I don't see ANY markings for the 4 outlet ports. Only markings are on top for the MC1 and MC2... which I know where these go.
Also IIRC, it should be that the top two ports go to the front wheels, and the ...

Re: leaking and vibrating aluminum wheels
Wow, you just posted exactly the problems I'm having with my chrome TorqueStar wheels. I even have Tripletreds on the car. LOL.
My problems started 4 years ago. I went through all of the possible solutions, but the wheels in question are just flawed. I found that a partial solution was to buy tire ...

ABS brake line routing
So, as an unintended diversion from my tranny problems, I tried to move the car and the brake lines blew out... turns out all 6 lines passing between the frame and tranny are rotted to hell.
During the process, I screwed up and have mixed up which ABS port goes to which rear brake. Luckily, I have ...
