Re: 95 PAU Project

Wow, so its been awhile since I've done anything on here, haha. I still have the PAU, and for the first time since I bought it, I finally ironed out ALL the kinks. Pretty much everything has been replaced on the car drivetrain wise. Lets see, since I posted last it has received

Perpetual Misfire

Hey guys. Hopefully I can get a little guidance on this issue. Apart from the reman'ed motor developing piston slap (old motor didnt do it), the car has been mechanically strong since the motor swap back in December. But, it seems as if I've been fighting an uphill battle with a mysterious misfire ...

Re: Michigan Mega Meet! September?

I may not be too big on here yet and still a little green, but I'm always up for a good meet. I'll be just coming back from an LH meet in WI when I get ready for this one, lol.

I'm actually really happy I saw this thread. I wanted to do a tune whenever I slap the Yella Terra rockers in and port/polish the heads, LIM, and blower. Cool stuff

Re: 95 PAU Project

She'll be going under the knife here again withing the next 3 weeks for sure. I'm finally getting a large settlement thats been coming my way and Im going to use some of it on the PAU immediatley. I have my bi-annual LH meet to head down to in Raleigh and planned on taking this car since its pretty ...

Re: Jiffy lube

I completely agree about JL being the "fast food joint" of the car world. Sadly there are more cases than not of new people over on teh LH forums that take their car in and JL ends up stripping out our aluminum pans by overtorquing the drain plug. I've seen enough to know that Im not really a fan

Re: 95 PAU Project

Well great news! Its back on the road and happier than ever. The old trans was definitely toast. Apart from the roller clutch being bad, which I'm almost sure had something to do with the diff failing, the diff was done done. The cover actually sheared off completely around and was just being held ...

Re: 95 PAU Project

Well, the "new" trans arrived today! 64,000 miles young and the lowest miles one I could find within 300 miles of me. I have to go and pick it up at a freight depot in the city tomorrow. Now comes the tricky part. I have no time this month to put it in myself. My Intrepid's tranny only took me 8 ...

Re: Best Plugs and Wires for Daily Driving

We have major issues using Bosch for O2 sensors and plugs over on our Mopars too. There's just about as much hatred for them over there as there is here. Before I got into the Mopar scene too much, I changed the plugs on my Intrepid with some Bosch plugs...lasted 1 month before I was missing and ...

Re: What plugs and wires ?

Factory calls for copper. You'd want a cool burning plug to prevent KR. The hotter the plug burns, the greater the chance for pre-detonation. I've seen alot of the 3800 sites and builders recommend using Autolite 103s or 104s. I'm running 103s in mine with Napa Beldin wires.

Re: 95 PAU Project

Well that pretty much settles it for me. Its a 96 trans or bust now. Thanks for all the help, hopefully I can, once again, get this thing roadworthy. Cheers!

Re: 95 PAU Project

Is the 96 Trans from a 96 Bonneville L67, or a 96 Park Ave L67...

The 95 L67 trans will work as well...

Here is the deal tho...

The 95 is a 2.97 Overall ratio and is not really considered an HD...

The 96 HD trans is a bit different in that it does use an HD Diff( 3.29 ) and has an overall 2.93 ...

i just noticed this thread. Im not that far away from you over in Indiana, PA. I go to alot of meets with a few different clubs in the Pitt area.

we'll have to get together some time...

Re: 95 PAU Project

Okay, so what I've gotten from this so far is that I should go with a 96 trans for sure. Now, a yard in Cleveland has 2 low mileage units that they'd be willing to ship down here. Ones a 95, the other is a 96. The 96 is $100 more. What makes a 96 60HD so much better? Another thing I've heard is that ...

Re: 95 PAU Project

I am sorry to hear about the failure... If the trans is still okish, you could dig up a 3.33 GX3 Diff and the structurally improved diff cover( I think most 95's had this to begin with )

as for the radiator, do your searching... I know you can do better than 150...

Eh, It sounds like the roller ...
