Hey! a fellow CS Major!
You're probably better off sticking with the 4l60e. It's not terribly hard to build up, and then afterward you can still tune the transmission.
x2 on the rear end. The 7.5" is a very weak rear end. The question isn't if it will blow up, but when.
As far as manual's go ...

Re: Possible Firebird 3800 build
Looking to keep it auto. Build the 4l60e, go 4l80, or find some way to make a 200-4r work out of a GN. Prefer auto over manual, although about 15% of whp is lost vs manual but they are more consistent.

Possible Firebird 3800 build
Hello all,
I was just venturing an idea while in my Database Management class the other day, which the idea and the class really have no relation; I was merely just day dreaming. The stock L36 and the Y87 package do pretty well on projecting the power to the pavement but some more power would be ...

nos4blood- Agreed.
I'll post up a sound clip when I get the chance, it sounds amazing in person. You may have mentioned it somewhere :dontknow: haha.
3800seriesII-I like the idea of a supercharger on the 3800. And the 3.6 LFX v6 would definitely have the power
The LFX packs a serious punch ...

Absolutely mint Camaro Z28!! I am in love with the 4th gen f-bodies but prefer the Firebirds for their smoother body lines and sleeker look. The facelift for the 1998 model year helped the Camaro, though. Congrats!

Re: 1998 Cadillac HVAC Programmer Inop
My main question is if anyone can locate an HVAC programmer online. It is quite difficult.CMNTMXR57 wrote:Then G Nelson evidently came to the conclusion that there was less than 4v at terminal B on the connector to the blower motor and that circuit 754 was ok.

1998 Cadillac HVAC Programmer Inop
Hello all. My girlfriend's dad recently ran into an issue with his Cadillac Eldorado where the car does not blow any air at all. Basically, from diagnosis the blower motor won't function because the HVAC programmer is shot. Now the issue is is that the part is rare or hard to find so if anyone had ...

Re: Brake issues and Rusted Subframe Mounts
I understand. You may not need them, I have no idea, I was just putting my 2 cents in because I have had problems in the past and thought it may be useful mentioning. I hope you find the issue though, brake problems are probably the most stressful when things go rye.

Re: Brake issues and Rusted Subframe Mounts
The last time I had brake work done on my last cat, the proportioning valve had gotten sediment in it and every time I would brake, fluid would enter the faulty valve, lock up, and the rear wheel locked up due to the stuck fluid and it would drag bad. I replaced the valve with a new one and it fixed ...

Do you happen to know which connector on the PCM it is?SSEBonne4evr wrote:We call this multiple ghost codes, it is most likely a bad connector continuity
at the PCM.
Put the connector on and off of few times clear everything and re-try it.

Re: Scan Codes...
Gee, no wonder your mileage sucks-the car's in open loop WITH a gigantic vacuum leak, the stuck EGR valve.
I'd try cleaning the EGR valve first-they get coked up with carbon and stick, and are easy to clean, replace the O2 sensor and that should cure your problems. Spend the extra money for a ...

Re: Scan Codes...
A new and or good used egr valve, and a new and or good used b1 s1 o2 should get rid of those codes and improve your mileage!
Hoping that wasn't the case but gotta face it at some point. Can get a new EGR valve for $50 online. The bank 1 sensor 2 oxygen sensor code is post-cat right? the one ...

Re: How about the new '14 SS?
I've liked ALL the big Caddy concepts over the years, this included.
I like the SS, I like the Caprice, I like the G8, I like the GTO, I like... Well, lets just say, I like pretty much anything Holden sources with a V8 in it.
My only issue with the SS, and one can safely argue for or against this ...

Scan Codes...
Well, I finally brought myself to O'Reilly's today to use their scanner. I went there because ever since I bought this Bonneville in the late summer 2013, the gas mileage has been sketchy. No lines are leaking, it may be a fuel cap seat issue, but the codes that I discovered may be the dominant ...

Re: How about the new '14 SS?
Didn't expect this to chalk up so many replies, haha. Nonetheless, I really like the new SS and it was limited at 163 or 165, something like that; It had plenty more MPH left. I can see where the styling is preferred on the G8 vs the SS because the G8 actually had the aesthetics of a sports car ...

How about the new '14 SS?
Seen these videos posted my GM High Tech Performance Magazine on my FB news feed and had to share them. The sound of the SS passing the camera at 163 MPH is amazing... Of course this is closed course and I am pretty sure Hennessey tuned it a bit.
