Re: Here's the Mind Boggler
I had that problem too previously. You should still be able to pull the code even though the light went out. Mine would do the same thing. As i recall, i was a random misfire code. I tested and replaced a bad ignition coil, along with the fuel pressure regulator. After that, the problem went away ...

Yeah, even if the intake gaskets aren't the problem, it doesn't hurt to change them. If they haven't failed yet, they will. I would also change the upper intake while its all apart. The EGR port tends to degrade and warp over time and leak coolant into the intake ports.

Re: Gumout/STP
I second the Techron, and also avoiding the no-name gas stations. I run Techron through every oil change or so. I don't know how much good it actually does, as was already said about gas already having plenty of additives in it, but it makes me feel a little bit better.

Re: rear deck removal
I don't remember exactly where i got stuck, but I ended up taking the easy way out... I just pried off the rear speaker grills/covers and trimmed enough of the foam and fabric to remove the speakers through the top of the deck. I made sure to only trim enough to get the speakers out, and so that the ...

Re: 2002 SSEi Service Questions
You will also want to look into replacing the upper and lower intake manifold gaskets. They like to breakdown and leak coolant. For the lowers, use the updated aluminum gaskets. You will probably want to replace the entire upper intake. Make sure you refill with Peak or Prestone coolant (the green ...

I'm having an issue with my 04 bonneville. It is NA for the record before someone asks. Haha. But anyways, my gas mulage has dropped significantly, especially city. On my last fillup of combined driving, I got 16.1 mpgs. ( miles traveled/gallons added ...

Re: 01 Grand Prix GT - Hestitation While Accelerating Issue
I have had this issue with my Bonneville multiple times. Usually if i keep the pedal in the same spot when it starts hesitating, it will continue missing long enough to cause a check engine light. Then you can pull the code. My bet would be the ignition coil for which ever cylinder it is missing on ...
