Re: My "New" 2003 SSEi

Looks real good. Last of the supercharged Bonnevilles. Dark blue color is not that common, and I like that it doesn't have a sunroof. Have fun with it and be safe!

Couldn't agree more on those points, and I think the older style had a bit more headroom also.

Re: Does a cooler running engine reduce fuel economy?

I've noticed a significant decrease in fuel economy, just by eyeballing the gas gauge so far (i.e., I've almost used 1/4 tank...and I'm barely at 100 miles on the trip odometer. Usually, at that point I'm at LEAST at 150 miles, sometimes closer to 200).
Just remember the fuel gauge is not ...

Re: Question regarding tires for 2005 SLE...Advice needed!!!

I would say yes, but let the experts chime in. The 50's are just slightly smaller in profile (sidewall dimension). I should think that is not a significant difference.

It sounds like a door isn't shifting to the correct position.

Re: "Check Gas Cap," message

You may not need a gas cap if you rectified the vacum leak. Apparently that vacum leak was associated with the EVAP system. I think they will have to clear that DTC with an OBDII scanner or it may clear itself after a number start cycles.

dz09x wrote: My question is that hose in the middle, does any fuel go down that line or is that an evap line that pulls air from the tank.
According to your description, that is the evap pipe.

Re: Clunk rattle left front side of car. steering shaft?

It sounds like the left strut has a worn bearing or bushing. Probably not a bad time to think about replacement of the front struts. The experts will chime in here in short order.

Welcome back to the forums. I would think that the evap canisters are the same regardless. I'm sure someone else will chime in with a more positive answer.

Re: alternator testing

A quick check is to connect a digital voltmeter across the (+) & (-) battery terminals to monitor battery voltage. Start the engine, allow voltage to stabilize after a few moments, it should be approximately 14.0 VDC. Have another person in the vehicle help out. Have them turn on some accessories ...

That looks to be indicating normal voltage. Voltage will droop slightly when you turn rear defrost on.
