Thanks Carl, that's exactly what I was looking for. I'm pretty sure that whatever I put on will be "stiff as hell" since i'm running on all original springs and struts (did the rear air shocks last summer/fall) and I've got 155k miles on them.
Have you done the rear coilsprings too? If I remember ...

QuickStruts and rear springs - write-up and tool list?
I'm considering tackling replacing the front struts/springs; Monroe finally makes some QuickStruts for us. While I am at it, just to keep things level, I figured I'd replace the rear springs too (did the rear shocks last year).

I have a new noise
So I'm driving down a narrow road the other day with the windows down, driving slow as I pull away from a stop, and I hear this whirring rattly vibrationy sounds. I let off the gas and it stops, I push on the gas and it starts back up. I put the car in park and gave it some gas, no noise, throw it ...

take it for what it's worth, but the dealer told me that the current incarnation of Dexcool is a different formula than the original stuff. Also mentioned that, at least in his opinion, most of the problems people had with it is because they didn't change it at whatever the recommended mileage was ...

Re: Delayed Blower Motor Engagement
Do you have the auto climate controls on your SSEi? On my SSEi the blower doesn't come on until the engine temp is around 150* or so. Normally it hits that within a few minutes, but if your thermostat is stuck open it could take a long time to get there, especially if you live North of the Mason ...

Re: where'd all my coolant go?
Like I said, I figured it was just evaporation out of the overflow tank and didn't think much of it. Every 3 or 4 months I'd have to top it off to get it to where it was supposed to be.

Re: where'd all my coolant go?
151,000 miles on the odo. Not sure how long it's been leaking but i've had to add a little fluid to the surge/overflow tank every now and again for the past couple of years. since the cap on the overflow tank doesn't seal well i chalked it up to evaporation...i'm guessing that wasn't what was going ...

I'm no great sniffer of exhaust smells, but I guess it smelled sweeter than other whiffs I've gotten in the past.

You said you hit something on the highway. Have you put it up on jackstands and inspected underneath?.
I have not done it myself, although it was up on a lift at the tire place while they were fixing the tire damage. I asked them to do some looking around for other damage but they didn't report ...

Re: where'd all my coolant go?
Your lower intake gaskets are probably leaking, allowing coolant to leak internally into the engine and burn off. Probably why you are seeing puddles at the tailpipes (not normal).

where'd all my coolant go?
It seems as though some (most? all?) of my coolant has disappeared on me. I hit something on the highway that did some damage to a tire, but other than that everything has been going great.

Re: Window regulator?
have you pulled the door panel off yet? I can't hear anything from my regulator with the panel on.
If you're still not hearing anything with the door panel off I'd stick a multimeter on the connection to make sure power is getting to it. I'm sure someone can provide a pin-out and expected values.

Just wanted to follow-up with this and post the results of what ended up fixing my problems.
The P0171 was caused by a vaccuum leak in the Supercharger Bypass Valve Actuator. New one from the dealer is approx $260, found online for $150, found at a salvage yard for $3

Re: Looking for parts
I'm looking for the rear reflector panel and for the outside window rails front and rear. Does anyone have part numbers or know of anyone selling these?
I saw a 2003ish SE at the salvage yard yesterday. The rear reflector was broken...I'd like a new one of those myself.

I did mine last weekend. The Monroe shocks are definitely a better choice than the ones from Gabriel. The ones I took off were exactly like the Monroe ones, not sure if they were OEM or not.

the fine folks at GMPD were able to get me a part number for the item. if anyone else needs it, it's 24506665 - this is for the supercharged models only. GMPD price is $8.79, about half of my local dealers $17.xx price.

Anyone know the name or part number for the u-bend hose coming out of the EVAP canister purge solenoid. One end connects to the purge solenoid, the other to a hard plastic tube. There's another u-bend hose at the other end of the tube which is connected, I think, to the manifold (didn't look too ...

Re: P0171 and P0440 - revisited
no, no engine mods. I'll check my records tonight but I'm reasonably sure the fuel filter is a year or so old. I'll ask around and try to find a fuel pressure guage....what kind of pressure should I be looking for?
