Re: Wierd Brake Problem...

Changed the connector lines with junkyard ones (between bearing and inside of frame at engine compartment). No difference (talked with a gent from mufflerman - this is first culprit). The junkyard ones "could" be defective as well, but physically they look perfect.

Checked rear connections/lines as ...

Always good to change both at same time. Other will go soon.
Jack up the right side, put in neutral (leave tire on), put hand on strut spring and turn the wheel a bunch. Should NOT feel any vibration radiated to the spring, if you do most likely the bearing...

Re: Wierd Brake Problem...

Well My wife likes the traction control... so...

Seems after some more web searching "low speed abs engaging" this problem is NOT so unusual.

This problem started at/near when I replaced the left bearing. I think I have a wiring issue.
I also think I need to check the harness up to the control ...

Re: Wierd Brake Problem...

Update

Replace BOTH bearings on front
- Left - clicking sounds GONE (3 weeks old = warranty)
- Right - Howling is GONE (bloody thing was only 8 months old= warranty)

Wiring on both checked - both connections look good.

ABS is STILL kicking on very slow speed braking.

I am getting some noise ...

Wierd Brake Problem...

Ok this one has me stumped....

note: Recently (3 wks) changed out the LF bearing (the RF bearing last year).

Symptom:(Just started) When braking to a stop (under 2-5km/hr) brakes will "lock up". This is intermittent and not consistent. Noise is made (like traction control or ABS engaging) very ...

May want to search for similar posts - even the most recent ones on the page.
You have a low pressure switch and a high pressure switch.
Usually you are low on r134 and the system deactivates to protect the compressor.

The aftermarket kits (if you are in Canada) are Duracool and RedTek, both HC ...

Re: 1995 Bonneville SSEI - airbag light/cannot scan computer

Guys,

Sorry on not replying - email was dumping my messages

I BELIEVE we have a count of 4 blinks after I turn on the key - then it stays on. I'll need to check as I've pulled the fuse. I just pulled the 1C fuse and been running with it that way, as I DO NOT want this sucker to trigger.

Weather ...

Re: 1995 Bonneville SSEI - airbag light/cannot scan computer

Well I noticed there are (2) fuses for airbag
- the crank circuit also has the airbag
- separate airbag

I'll unhook the battery to be safe. Last thing I want is a bag going off by accident.

I don't know if I really want to look under that carpet - lol.

Re: 1995 Bonneville SSEI - airbag light/cannot scan computer

Well I had the seats out last summer due to my battery draining (found a hot c/b to the seats - then found the passenger seat had a corroded connector.

So it's under the carpet.... great. WTF?

SO I already suspect corrosion there. It is a 95 - and it has been raining way too much over the last ...

Re: 1995 Bonneville SSEI - airbag light/cannot scan computer

I've been able to scan before.

This airbag thing just started - so maybe the bloody airbag module is causing this.

I'm going to focus on the airbag issue first -and maybe I'll fix the other.

I'm assuming the problem at this point is that an airbag sensor is corroded or something (due to age).

Re: Climate Control Module blank and no air blowing

Check the fuse bank on passenger side (under the glovebox) This car has 3 fuse panels (1 driver, 1 passenger and 1 under the hood)
I had a similar problem - turned out to be the following:
- had a bottle of "liquid car freshner" in the glovebox that leaked - down over the fuses, blew a couple fuses ...

1995 Bonneville SSEI - airbag light/cannot scan computer

Need some help on this one.
Car running fine - Airbag light just came on this week.
I tried to hook my scanner to the computer (No problems before) BUT unable to connect (link error).
Too dark tonight to check - thinking this may be a fuse???

Anyone have any ideas on this? Appreciate your help.

1995 Bonneville - Starter Problem

Battery is good, Pulled the plastic guard.
Can hear the plunger engage, but the starter doesn't wind up. So I think its just the starter.

Now, how the heck to pull that starter? Has anyone pulled one?
There's a shock absorber for the engine - looks like we have to pull that as well just to get ...

Re: p0134 insufficent activity bank 1 sensor 1 oxygen sensor

My MAF sensor just went on my Bonneville.
When scanning, the O2 readings were barely moving. I unplugged the MAF and the scans looked decent.
Now I know the actual air-fuel is buggered up by the bad sensor but the PCM was reacting to the bad sensor and it seemed to be affecting the way it read the ...

Re: p0134 insufficent activity bank 1 sensor 1 oxygen sensor

I've a 95 ssei, not a 96se so I'm not sure...

Maybe you are physically checking the wrong sensor - are there 2 banks on the pcm? 2 O2 sensors maybe...

8th Vin Digit K or 1 - you have a downstream one (after catalytic)
Downstream usually around 450mv, moves little.
Upstream shoud swing steady 100 ...

Re: Driver's side seat - reclines too far back - 95 ssei

The problem, to add some detail, is that the driver's seat reclines back ok, but it does not come up far enough (used to). The passenger seat is fine.

Also, would be nice to have the lumbars working - simply do nothing at this point. Not sure if the problem is the seat or the controls.

Found a ...
