Ahh...I see it now. How long have you been receiving this error message without replacing this item?

Re: Security System...
Hey Andrew,
Any chance you can give me an idea of where this "exciter/receiver" is located? Also did you have to replace this part or was it service-able?
I was advised that I needed to take the car into a GM service center to have the ingintion replaced and that this was a "common" failure mode ...

Re: Dead Tach
The issue with that suggestion is getting the Tach not to work. Over the course of 14k miles I think it has happened maybe 3 or 4 times.

Dead Tach
Anyone have any experience with an intermittantly dead Tach? Every now and again when I start my car the tach will not come up with the rest of the gauges. :sad5: It is the only gauge that does this and it will come back to life after I shut down the car and start it up again. Strangest thing ...

Re: I'm getting ready to give up.
Go back to wendy's and hit it with a hammer, sometimes that helps, if you get one more start out of it, you can at least get it home.
I hope you mean the starter!! :eek2:
That poor car is 16 years old. It is allowed to have a bad day or six. Just part of it. Even my 01 needs some TLC everytime ...

I went with the Thrasher kit for my 01. Quite happy with the results. Atleast the spacers were metal, bronze I think. I wouldn't bother putting in a shift kit without the springs tough, IMO.

Re: tires for the GXP
Here is a link to the tires that I purchased for my Bonne. I have had no issues with them, I have yet to drive them through a winter yet, but I think they should work well.

So you are full on betting this is the only issue with the Trans? Are you able to replace the clutches in this position?BTW, here is what a failed 4th clutch shaft looks like: This is what I am hoping and expecting to be wrong with the Bonneville's trans.

Re: Temp. Sensor Location Inside Car
Next question.....where is the passenger side sensor? Or does the system just approximate the passenger side temp based on the driver side temp +/- the temperature setting offset?so those holes are so the auto climate sensor knows what the interior temp is?

If you have 17" rims....plan on spending some money.:angry4:
I agree, Goodyear Assurance Tripletread tires are great tires with a long life expectancy.....just too expensive. The Perrilli P-Zeros are a better gripping tire but tread wear life is a concern. I picked the Yokohama Avid H4S tires and ...
